Faculty of Teacher Education Holds Alumni Association Transition and Appointment Meeting

On the afternoon of August 1, the Faculty of Teacher Education held a meeting in Room 1806 of Sanjiang Building to facilitate the transition of the Teacher Education Alumni Association and to appoint alumni representatives to the Institute for Basic Education Research. Attendees included Li Guohao, Director of the Alumni Association and External Liaison Office; Li Xiaobo, former Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Education; and leaders from the university’s eight teacher education programmes. The meeting was chaired by Bu Guangqing, Party Secretary of the Faculty.

The discussion focused on two main agenda items. First, under the guiding objective of building an alumni association with distinctive professional features, participants reviewed and agreed on arrangements for the upcoming transition meetings, including proposed candidates for the standing council and council, and the formation of a transition working group. Second, plans were outlined for recruiting outstanding teacher education alumni, such as distinguished teachers, senior professors, provincial teaching masters, and subject leaders to serve as part-time researchers at Jiangsu University’s Institute for Basic Education Research. All relevant faculties were asked to conduct thorough surveys of their alumni networks and actively recommend qualified candidates.

During the exchange session, faculty heads shared views on mobilising alumni resources and improving recommendation procedures. Former Dean Li Xiaobo outlined the process for finalising the inaugural council membership of the Jiangsu University Teacher Education Alumni Association. Director Li Guohao provided guidance on developing distinctive features in the association’s work and jointly promoting the high-quality development of the Institute for Basic Education Research.
