"Isn't it a pleasure to study and practice what you have learned? Isn't it also great when friends visit from distant places?
If one remains not annoyed when he is not understood by people around him, isn't he a sage?"

                                                                          Confucius

Traveling to China to pursue the Master of Education (pedagogy) at Jiangsu University’s School of Teacher Education have
been the most important decision to date and has enriched me beyond what I believed possible. It’s a place that is safe and multi-
cultural, where everyone is respected and taken care of, irrespective of gender or race.

Before coming to China in 2017, I graduated from Moscow State Region  University as a linguist and English teacher.
Unfortunately, My Russian university couldn’t provide me with as many opportunities as Jiangsu  University. Here I could meet
people from all over the world, go to school by bike and also enjoy the breath- taking view from Sanjiang building over the entire campus area every single day.

The School of Teacher Education is providing me with many skills from the Chinese and an international perspective, and all
thanks to the high quality of education offered here by highly skilled professors. I had countless chances to take part in important
conferences and forums organised by the college. The education and student life experience has helped my whole personal
development.

My advice to all newcomers is to study hard, develop your mind and body and explore Chinese culture.

I strongly recommend you the School of Teacher Education at Jiangsu University as it is the place where your voice is heard
and your opinion counts.

   加油!

On the construction of normal education with Chinese characteristics in the view of educational confidence: based upon reflections on 120 years’ development of normal education

Lack of confidence and self-focus has become an important factor hampering the construction of normal education with Chinese characteristics, which has been considered to be a chronic disease of normal education in China. To construct normal education with Chinese characteristics, we should take such initiatives as follows: comprehending normal education with Chinese characteristics scientifically, grasping the logic of interaction between normal education and basic education systematically, analyzing the history and current situation of normal education of China deeply, and understanding the developing trend of normal education at home and abroad comprehensively. Based on these, to carry out the requirement of educational self-confidence in an all-round way and highlight self-care, measures should be taken from the construction of the development idea system, theory system, practice paradigm, etc.
