On September 5, the School of Teacher Education conducted the 2024 Young Teachers “Sailing” Project review meeting and a demonstration meeting for professional development planning in room 1817, Sanjiang Building. Jingquan Wang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University; Fei Wang, Director of the Personnel Department of Jiangsu University; Ting Huang, Director of the Talent Work Office of Jiangsu University; and Yanling Liu, Deputy Director of the Talent Work Office of Jiangsu University, were invited to act as judges. The conference was chaired by Dean Jiajia Wang and attended by instructors applying for the 2024 Young Instructors “Sailing” Project.
During the meeting, the evaluation experts initially reviewed the personal reports of the six applicants, subsequently engaging in a dialogue that incorporated the details of their declarations. They posed questions, offered specific recommendations for revisions, and assessed the viability of each teacher’s professional development plan. Vice President Jingquan Wang emphasized that young educators should concentrate on industry trends, choose research areas, and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration while providing them with full assistance for academic career growth. The professionals offered robust assistance in individual planning, instruction, and research. Guangqing Bu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, asserted that the “Sailing” Project for Young Teachers has received significant attention and guidance from school authorities, facilitating the growth of young educators and further advancing the college's development.
The “Sailing” Project for Young Teachers is a significant initiative for developing the College’s faculty. The College has developed and published the Implementation Measures for the “Sailing” Project for Young Teachers at the School of Teacher Education, Jiangsu University, with the objective of thoroughly and systematically supporting the professional development of young educators. Since the initiation of the “Sailing” Project for Young Teachers in 2023, a total of 19 young educators have applied. The school has coordinated the disciplinary direction to conduct internal demonstrations, engaged internal experts for centralized evaluations, rigorously maintained quality standards, enhanced incentives and guidance, and effectively offered professional guidance and material support for the development of young teachers.
