The 17th China Undergraduate Computer Design Contest concluded relatively recently. Following intense competition at the school, province, and national levels, two of our students' works, directed by Professor Hua Wang, were awarded second place in the national competition for their digital media animation and short films and micro-lessons and teaching aids.

The micro-lessons and instructional aids category met at Northeastern University on August 7, 2024. The “Farming Culture in Tang and Song Poetry” micro-lesson and teaching aid that our college's undergraduates Hanfei You, Wenxin Zhao, and Jiaxin Wu developed for use with students of Tang and Song poetry took second place nationally. Short films and digital media animations occurred at Xiamen University on August 13, 2024. The digital media animation and short film “Exploring Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage – Abacus” produced by undergraduates Beiyao Ma, Mengying He, Hanzhi Cao, and Yajun Zhao from our college took home the national second award in the documentary general category.

College officials have stated their commitment to helping education technology majors develop their innovative capacities and plans to reform the curriculum and instruction further, pique students’ interest in and aptitude for careers in the field, and inspire them to excel in scholastic contests across disciplines. The college’s long-term goals include raising the bar for professional instruction and enhancing students’ competence in applying IT to real-world challenges.
