On the afternoon of September 26th, the School of Teacher Education organized a symposium for young teachers in Room 1806 of the Sanjiang Building, attended by five newly recruited young teachers in 2023. The dean, Professor Wang Jiajia chaired the meeting.
Professor Wang extends a warm welcome to the incoming cohort of young teachers in 2023, then he articulated three key expectations for these educators. Engaging in personal, professional, and academic development planning is crucial. This entails identifying one’s professional expertise and utilizing advantages to concentrate on specific research areas. Doing so can establish a comprehensive approach to conducting teaching, scientific inquiry, and social services research. Furthermore, it is imperative to uphold a favorable disposition towards scientific inquiry, proactively propose research subjects, produce scholarly articles, engage in academic presentations, actively seek guidance, and prioritize pursuing national youth initiatives. Furthermore, it is imperative to fully leverage the institutional advantages of Jiangsu University as a comprehensive research university. This entails conducting interdisciplinary research and capitalizing on the university’s strategic positioning. Additionally, the geographical advantage of the university’s location within the Yangtze River Delta should be harnessed to foster robust academic exchanges and cultivate an inclusive academic community.
Finally, Jiajia Wang, Kechun Zheng, Haijiang Wu, and Lifang Zheng answered the questions of young teachers.
