Yan Zeng, Executive Deputy Editor of Education Research Monthly, Delivered an Academic Presentation on“Writing of Educational Research Papers”

On September 28th, 2023, Yan Zeng, Deputy Editor of Jiangxi Institute of Education Evaluation and Monitoring and Executive Deputy Editor of Education Research Monthly, delivered an exclusive presentation on “Good Research, Good Article - Writing of Educational Research Papers” for faculty and students of School of Teacher Education at the Sanjiang Building. Professor Shouwei Lv moderated the talk from the School of Teacher Education.

According to Yan Zeng, the attainment of “good research” necessitates the use of professional reasoning, the employment of standardized methodologies, and the formulation of scientific deductions. It is imperative to separate academic issues from observable events in academic writing. Simultaneously, extracting fundamental concepts and employing normative research paradigms is essential. During the presentation, Yan Zeng presented a comprehensive analysis of three distinct research orientations: empirical, qualitative, and speculative research. She explained the specific traits and material associated with each research paradigm and offered her unique perspectives. In conclusion, Yan Zeng emphasized incorporating scientific, creative, theoretical, and innovative elements in our academic articles. Furthermore, he advocated for a meticulous and patient approach to research, thoughtful consideration of topic selection, clear articulation of article structure, and enhanced communication with editors.

This lecture facilitated direct interaction between faculty members, students, and senior editors, providing an opportunity for scholarly engagement. Additionally, it provided valuable insights and guidance for future research endeavors. Following the presentation, editor Zeng engaged in extensive discourse with academics and students, diligently addressing the inquiries posed by all individuals present. In conclusion, Professor Shouwei Lv expressed gratitude towards Yan Zeng for delivering an exceptional lecture and provided a concise overview of its key points.
