The Team of Jiangsu University Evidence-Based Research Center for Educational Assessment Presented a panel discussion at the International Symposium at Zhejiang University

From October 21st to October 22nd, 2023, Professor Jinyan Huang, the Director of the Evidence-Based Research Center for Education Assessment of Jiangsu University, led a research team to deliver a seminar entitled Validity and Reliability of Language Assessment Tools” at the first International Seminar on Language Ability Development and Assessment held by Zhejiang University. This conference aims to explore the close link between language development and assessment in the digital age and promote the development of foreign language education and the progress of assessment methods.

The panel discussion was moderated by Yanyun Dong, an associate professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University, and delivered by Professor Jinyan Huang, the director of the Evidence-Based Research Centre for Education Assessment at Jiangsu University. Professor Huang initially introduced the research team affiliated with the center, followed by a comprehensive report on the reliability and validity of English evaluation tools. The significance of these tools in the context of foreign language instruction was underscored. Furthermore, the author employs a particular study as an illustrative case to go into the matter extensively. The brief version of the English Classroom Anxiety Scale and the English Feedback Literacy Scale were reported by Associate Professor Dr. Shahbaz Hussain and graduate student Yaxin Dong from the School of Teacher Education.
