He explained the policy with the specific practice of Qingyang Central Primary School in Sihong County in implementing the national “double reduction” policy and promoting the quality and efficiency of students’ homework. He proposed five implementation paths for student homework reform: detailed management, strict control of the total amount of students’ homework, special discussion to improve teachers’ teaching and research ability, optimization design and development of students’ comprehensive quality, after-school service to ensure reasonable working hours, and evaluate the reform and respect the law of students’ growth. With a large number of vivid cases, President Wang elaborated on how to develop students’ comprehensive literacy by optimizing homework design and how to improve students’ learning efficiency by providing high-quality after-school services.
After the lecture, Vice President Jing Wang answered the students’ questions. In the question-and-answer exchange session, President Wang suggested that everyone carefully study the compulsory education Curriculum Plan and Curriculum Standards for each subject issued by the Ministry of Education in April 2022 and encouraged everyone to understand important national macro policies such as “double reduction” and “high-quality and balanced development of compulsory education.” Teacher Bin Wang expressed gratitude to Vice President Jing Wang for her exceptional presentation and urged all attendees to not only focus on the acquisition of subject-specific expertise but also to be attentive to the prevailing significant educational policies and regulations implemented by the nation.
