“2023 Zhenjiang Yangtze River Education Forum” was Successfully Held in Jiangsu University

On June 10th, the “2023 Zhenjiang Yangtze River Education Forum” was held at Jiangsu University. The forum focused on “Organized research and the future of educational research.” More than 100 experts and scholars from more than 60 universities, such as Peking University and Zhejiang University, participated in the conference online and offline. The forum was organized by the School of Teacher Education of Jiangsu University, Changjiang Institute of Education, and the National Institute of Education Governance of Central China Normal University, co-organized by the Editorial Department of University Education Management and the Editorial Department of Education Governance Research (semi-annual).

During the commencement event, Professor Weihong Xing, President of Jiangsu University, cordially greeted the attendees and provided a concise overview of Jiangsu University's foundational background and notable accomplishments within the institution's education field in recent years. The expectation is that all experts will perceive this meeting as a chance to deepen comprehension, foster agreement, share the most recent scholarly accomplishments, collaboratively contribute to the advancement of “Organised Scientific Research” and “Educational Research in Chinese universities in the new era,” and generate novel and significant contributions towards the exploration of a novel trajectory for Chinese-style educational modernization. In his address, Professor Hongyu Zhou, an esteemed academic holding positions such as Vice President of the Chinese Society of Education, President of the National Institute of Education Governance of Central China Normal University, and President of the Changjiang Institute of Education, expressed that we are currently situated within a significant historical epoch characterized by the convergence of the strategic macrocosm of the Chinese nation's remarkable revitalization and unprecedented global transformations. Furthermore, Professor Zhou asserted that China’s educational landscape has transitioned from mere operation to dynamic advancement, leading him to confidently anticipate its imminent ascension to a prominent position on the global stage.

The conference commenced the keynote speakers’ session after the opening ceremony’s conclusion. Prof. Xie Yifan, School of Education, Zhejiang University; Prof. Chen Hongjie, School of Education, Peking University; Prof. Tingzhu Chen, Dean of Institute of Education Sciences, Huazhong University of Science and Technology; Prof. Huaiyin Hou, Dean of Chinese Institute of Social Education, Shanxi University; Prof. Zhengtao Li, Director of Institute of Basic Education Reform and Development, East China Normal University; Prof. Xiangchao, Vice Minister of Faculty of Education, Shaanxi Normal University; and Research Institute of Education, Xiamen University Professor Zhao Tingting of the Institute, Professor Xudong Zhu of the Department of Education of Beijing Normal University, Professor Fu Weidong of the Department of Artificial Intelligence of Central China Normal University, Professor Jiajia Wang of the School of Teacher Education of Jiangsu University, and Professor Shouwei Lv of the School of Teacher Education of Jiangsu University respectively presented their research.

During the concluding ceremony of the forum, Professor Hong Chen, the vice president of Jiangsu University, provided a summary stating that the forum and the expert reports presented were highly relevant to the theme of “Organized Scientific Research” and “Future of Educational Research.” The discussions primarily centered around strategies to enhance “Organized Scientific Research,” enhance the overall capacity for independent innovation in educational research, and facilitate the development of a Chinese educational scientific theory system that is globally competitive. The diverse perspectives and comprehensive analyses presented in the experts' papers offer a valuable academic experience.
