School of Teacher Education Organized a Profound Symposium on “Collaborative Innovation and Complicity in the Development of Teacher Education”

A successful seminar titled “Collaborative Innovation and Complicity in the Development of Teacher Education” was conducted by the School of Teacher Education on January 21st, in room 206 (Main A Building), which serves as the Skills Training Center for regular university students. The seminar was attended by various individuals, including Deputy Director Liuyang JI of the Academic Affairs Office, teaching deans, department chairs, program directors from eight secondary colleges that offer undergraduate teacher educati-on majors, subject curriculum and pedagogy teachers’ representatives, Chief Xin Zhao of the Practice Section of the Academic Affairs Office, and teachers and students representatives from the School of Teacher Education. The meeting was presided over by Cui Kang, vice dean.

The School of Teacher Education Secretary, Mr. Guangqing Bu, delivered a welcome speech. Guangqing Bu provided an overview of the School of Teacher Education and a Skil-ls Training Centre for students at Normal University. He expressed his desire to work with all stakeholders in teacher education within the university to strategize in advancing the institution’s teacher education program in 2024. Associate Dean Cui Kang led the group to the Skills Training Centre and arranged for a group photograph at the centre’s entrance.

During the seminar session, attendees deliberated on the present state of each teacher training program. They offered specific recommendations regarding program development, the enhancement of the three internship systems (educational apprenticeship, study, and internship), fundamental skills instruction for students at Normal University, and research on teaching and learning in basic education. In his response, Deputy Director Liuyang JI provided constructive guidance and addressed the concerns expressed by the educators. 

In his concluding remarks, Dean Jiajia Wang expressed his desire for the instructors to boost their self-assurance, grasp the occasion, and focus on attaining greater accomplishments.

The seminar’s successful organization has contributed to formulating a strategic plan for establishing and progressing a teacher education program at the School of Teacher Education in 2024. The school will unite the power of all university institutions, foster collaboration and innovation, and propel the university’s teacher education to an unprecedented 

level.
