On March 8th, to celebrate International Women's Day and guide students to be thankful and caring, our postgraduate volunteers from School of Teacher Education went to Experimental Kindergarten in Runzhou District, and took part in a practical volunteering activity “Be Thankful to Mothers and Send Blessings”, together with children and their mothers, for the purpose of showing gratitude to mothers and wish for their happiness.
On that day, children from sophomore class of this kindergarten and 5 invited mothers took part in this activity. During the activity, our postgraduate volunteers introduced the origin of International Women's Day to children by playing the cartoon; after that, our volunteers organized several competitions for children, such as feeding mothers with biscuits and making up for mothers, to enhance the relationship between children and their mothers and also guide children to know the importance of paying efforts for mothers. In the end, under guidance of our volunteers, children made some handmade gifts for their mothers, carrying their best wishes and gratitude.
Today’s activity has not only helps enhance the practical ability and flexibility of our postgraduate students, but also let children take part in gratitude activities, learning from realizing love to expressing love and gaining from gratitude.
