THe opening ceremony for the 2020th freshmen was held by the school of teacher education

On the afternoon of September 19th, the opening ceremony of the 2020th freshmen was held in the school hall. Secretary Bu Guangqing, Dean Wang Jiajia, Deputy Party Secretary Dong Guojun, Deputy Dean Cao Hui, the director of the College Professors Committee, Department head and other teacher representatives, as well as all the freshmen attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Deputy Secretary Dong Guojun.

Dean Wang Jiajia first introduced the characteristics and achievements of the college. And then he put forward three hopes for the freshmen: 1) to adapt to the change of learning style as soon as possible; 2) to cultivate their research ability and to learn research-based learning; 3) to make full use of school resources to cultivate their interdisciplinary comprehensive learning ability and open up academic horizons.

The teacher representative, Professor Lyu Shouwei shared his understanding of pedagogy and reminded students to be fully aware of their responsibility in choosing this college. At the same time, he encouraged students to learn, think and debate according to their own ideas and hoped that students would have humanistic care.

Representatives of freshmen Zhao Qiaofei, Sun Xinli and Lu Jia gave presentations respectively. They expressed their expectations for their future study and life. They said that they would adhere to the school motto of “Erudite, Realistic, Virtuous” and the college motto of “True Words and Deeds, True Knowledge and People” and set off on a new journey.

Finally, Secretary Bu Guangqing made a speech. He hoped that students can always set up two consciousness: seize the day and live up to the youth; study hard to construct the powerful country and take the responsibility of the times. Secretary Bu hoped that students would continue to work hard and to gain knowledge, to enjoy happiness and to realize their dreams in the future study and life!
