Deans, Department Heads, and key instructors from the School of Arts, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Mathematical Sciences, School of Physics and Electronic Engineering, School of Foreign Languages, and School of Teacher Education were extended invitations by the School of Teacher Education of Jiangsu University to conduct research activities in the School of Teacher Education of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology on January 20. The delegation was received by the dean of the School of Teacher Education, Mr Zuodong Yang; vice dean, Mr. Yuzhu Liu; vice dean, Mr. Ming Liu; assistant to the dean; and leaders of numerous academic disciplines.
Zuodong Yang warmly greeted his Jiangsu University colleagues and provided an in-depth overview of the institution’s development history, faculty, construction of specialized disciplines and fields, scientific research, personnel development, social services, internationalization, and additional initiatives. He held the following views: firstly, to effectively manage conventional education, it is critical to garner recognition from three sources: peers, social status, and parents; secondly, addressing the challenges posed by the decline of the teaching profession and the absence of a robust teacher culture, while implementing a series of policies and placing emphasis on the development of a study style; and thirdly, resolving the issues of professional attrition and inadequate teacher culture. Additionally, the report detailed the typical challenges that arise during the standardization of education at comprehensive universities and the solutions implemented.
Cui Kang, Associate dean of the School of Teacher Education, expressed gratitude for the warm reception extended by the School of Teacher Education of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. She also provided a concise overview of the institution’s teacher education centre, the curriculum for regular undergraduate students, and the School of Teacher Education. A comprehensive discussion occurred between Du Zhou, the vice dean of the College of Arts, Guoxing Zhu, the vice dean of the School of Chemical Engineering, and the department heads of all academic institutions. The topics covered included revising the talent training program, improving the three lessons system (education probation, practice, study), coordinating and administrating the basic skills competition for regular university students, and cooperating between the three institutions.
