Director Yu Wei of the Research Office of the Zhenjiang Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference was invited to deliver an academic lecture at our institute

On the afternoon of 17 October, Director Yu Wei of the Research Office of the Zhenjiang Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference delivered an academic lecture entitled ‘How to Draft Policy Advisory Reports’ in Room 1808 of Sanjiang Building. The session was chaired by Wang Jiajia, Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Education, with participation from junior faculty members and selected key teaching staff of the faculty.

At the briefing session, Director Yu Wei systematically expounded on the core value of policy advisory reports, emphasising that such reports should exhibit problem-oriented specificity, user-driven applicability, and outcome-focused constructiveness. Subsequently, Director Yu provided an in-depth explanation of specific writing methods and techniques for different types of policy advisory reports. He illustrated key aspects, such as seizing the right moment, crafting an effective title, articulating reasoning clearly, and analysing issues profoundly through vivid case studies.

Following the presentation, Director Yu engaged in substantive discussions with faculty members, addressing questions in detail. This report, combining theoretical depth with practical utility, provided valuable guidance for enhancing our faculty’s capabilities in drafting policy advisory reports.
